Phoenix Purpose

Transform Your Space: The Phoenix Remodeling Journey

The name of the company is based on the myth of the Phoenix that lives for 500 years. Then at the end of its life cycle, it catches fire and is reborn as a young Phoenix starting its life cycle over. This hits home for me because when I was younger I made a good number of poor choices that took me to some dark places. Through a sequence of events and help from family, I straightened  my head up and adjusted my actions and perspective. Similar to the phoenix’s rebirth, I felt reborn out of the ashes of my poor decisions.

After doing renovations on several buildings I realized the same process of rebirth applies to remodel projects as well. During this process of remodeling, we are able to take a building that was once beautiful but has since been in need of refreshing and help it become reborn. The first action taken in a remodel, is to remove all of the old material that needs to be refreshed. This same process of refreshing the building means there is no way of knowing what is in the walls until material covering them has been removed. As a contractor, this can be nerve racking but also exciting because you can either find great things in there or it can turn into something much worse. No matter what is found the removal process needs to continue on until the point of reconstruction can begin. This is where the process changes, and people can become excited about what is going back in as they start to see it coming back together. When putting projects back together, it can be hard to imagine the finished product, but after time it begins to solidify into something truly great. This is again similar to the rebirth of a phoenix. While using the structure of the original building, or ashes of the burned phoenix, it will become reborn into something better than what it was before.

As time has gone by, I noticed a good number of similarities between my rebirth and the rebirth of the phoenix or remodeling project. For me, it was fueled by pain and confusion that led to a life riddled with regret, and would have had an early end. It was concerning when I began removing material from my life that needed to be changed, because I didn’t know where I was going to end up. I knew that through this remodeling process I was going to be a better person than I was. With the help of my family, I was able to get back to a solid foundation and start the process of rebuilding my life. As painful as this process was, I can see now that the old me had a rubble foundation with paper walls, empty windows and a roof of tissues. I was in desperate need of a complete remodel.

During the Phoenix’s rebirth, it can be beautiful and concerning as the bird catches fire. When it has turned to ash, it may seem like this is the end. When in fact, it is not until the bird is turned completely to ash that it can begin to grow and become reborn as the new young bird and thus restarting its life cycle. It then lives to 500 years and starts the process anew. This process inspired me to start Phoenix Construction Group to help guide people and their projects through the same rebirth process.

My pledge to clients
